The body of an MBA student from Allahabad has been recovered from the Ganga Canal area on Thursday, police said. Nagendra Singh, 26, went on an outing with four friends to Pachgaon in Meerut district. When an argument broke out between them, one of the friends (Johnny) began thrashing them.

“After the tiff, two among the four jumped into the nearby Ganga Canal. While Singh, who had suffered heavy injuries, could not get out in time due to the heavy flow of water, the other boy managed to reach safety,” said Raghubir Lal, SSP.
Singh's body was recovered on Thursday morning near Murad Nagar water regulator. “We have added sections of murder to the FIR (that included only abduction earlier) and detained his three friends. We are on the lookout for Johnny,” a police official said.
