Chairman of the MCD's High Powered Property Tax Committee Ved Parkash Gupta said the domestic breeding checkers (DBCs), earlier engaged with the public health department will be deputed with the property tax department to carry out survey of properties.

Giving details about the recovery of taxes from government department, Gupta said Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC) finally released the first instalment of R37 lakh against the demand of R10 crore for property tax.

The civic body has been in a tiff with the Delhi Metro for quite some time; the case even went to court.

A meeting with the discoms was convened to finalise the amount of tax due.
