MCD demolition drive on, more buildings on radar

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) demolished illegal portions of seven properties on Friday in Rohini and Central zone even as a similar action is planned in Bhogal and Jungpura colonies.

The Municipal Corporation of Delhi (MCD) demolished illegal portions of seven properties on Friday in Rohini and Central zone even as a similar action is planned in Bhogal and Jungpura colonies.

The building department along with local police carried out the demolition. In Rohini, illegally constructed rooms on the rear side in three properties at Jhulelal Apartment were demolished, while a roof slab was razed at Satyawati.

In central zone, the demolition squad faced some resistance from local public and elected representatives when they demolished illegal portions at Sunlight colony, near Ashram.

Demolitions were carried out in Siddharth Extension and Govindpuri as well.
