According to sources, there was a lot of chaos inside the Civic Centre and some head of the departments wore a blank face when asked about the public hearing. However, the hearing did manage to solve 12 complaints on the spot. Most of the complaints were regarding licensing and streetlights.

MCD had decided to reorganise its public hearing system to ensure complaints are disposed in a time-bound manner.

MCD commissioner KS Mehra had announced the amended schedule and guidelines for public hearing which will take place at Civic Centre, headquarter of the civic agency.

To ensure public hearings take place in an organised manner, a separate register for registration of public grievances is being maintained and the complainant or the applicant is being given a receipt.
