MCD school teachers receive Shikshak Samman Awards

The Tech Mahindra Foundation in partnership with MCD presented the Shikshak Samman Awards 2010-11 to outstanding MCD school teachers on Thursday.

The Tech Mahindra Foundation in partnership with MCD presented the Shikshak Samman Awards 2010-11 to outstanding MCD school teachers on Thursday.

MCD commissioner KS Mehra, the chief guest, congratulated the municipal school teachers for their contribution and shared his personal experience of being a student at a MCD school. Mehra presented the Shikshak Samman Awards to 23 exceptional teachers. The award comprised a cash award, a teaching learning material kit, a residential workshop and a series of capacity building programmes.

Speaking on the occasion, Vinod Khanna, principal consultant, Tech Mahindra Foundation, said, “It is truly wonderful to see the kind of exemplary work being done by these teachers under extremely difficult and sometimes adverse conditions. Their relentless pursuit, despite several difficulties in moulding the minds of the young is truly laudable. In keeping with our group’s core philosophy, RISE, the Shiksha Samman Awards strive to recognise those who drive positive change in the society. The awards also provide avenues that encourage them to rise, innovate and implement best practices.”
