Mayor Kanwar Sain is also going to meet the Delhi chief minister over the issue.

“We want to put all relevant projects on fast track but we don’t have the funds to start the construction,” said Sain.

“The MCD is blamed for all delays but when it comes to releasing funds the Delhi government is not doing anything.”

According to the MCD, funds are required for projects relate to roads, engineering, environmental management services and
horticulture.

Sheila Dikshit had earlier said funds to the civic agency would only be released depending on performance.

According to the civic agency, even the Centre had asked the Delhi government to release funds for timely completion of all projects.

The BJP-led MCD and the state government have been involved in a war of words the past few months.
