The CBI has arrested owner of the college, Suresh Kumar Bhadoria, and is confronting him with other co-accused.

Sources said some “clarifications” were sought from Ramadoss in the matter. When contacted, the PMK leader denied he was “summoned or questioned” by the CBI.

Ramadoss’s party PMK is part of DMK-Congress alliance in Tamil Nadu.

Sources said that the CBI is confronting Indore based Index Medical college owner Bhadoria with two of co-accused —Dr DK Gupta and Dr JS Dhupia of Safdarjung Medical College. Bhadoria was arrested by the CBI on allegations of forging attendance sheet of college during an inspection of the college. He is in the CBI remand till April 20 for custodial interrogation.

Source said the executive panel of Medical Council of India (MCI) recommended the college not be allowed to admit 150 students for 2008-09 as it lacked infrastructure. The college went to the SS against the MCI recommendation. The Supreme Court ordered on September 26 that due to inadequate teaching staff and facilities the permission cannot be granted.
