Mercury to dip further

A day after Delhi recorded the season's lowest minimum temperature, the mercury went up a little Sunday, but chilly winds swept the capital and the met department forecast a colder week ahead.

A day after Delhi recorded the season's lowest minimum temperature, the mercury went up a little Sunday, but chilly winds swept the capital and the met department forecast a colder week ahead.

The minimum temperature was 9.4 degrees Celsius — a notch above average for this time of the season. On Saturday, the minimum settled at 6.2 degrees, three notches below average, while the maximum was 20.4 degrees — four notches below average.

"The maximum temperature recorded Sunday was a notch below average at 22.7 degrees," an India Meteorological Department official said.
