Messages pour in for Manmohan

World leaders, including Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, have wished Prime Minister Manmohan Singh a speedy recovery, reports HT Correspondent.

World leaders, including Pakistan’s President Asif Ali Zardari and Prime Minister Yousaf Raza Gilani, have wished Prime Minister Manmohan Singh a speedy recovery.

The Prime Minister’s Office received two bouquets, one each from the Pakistani president and Prime Minister, with messages wishing the PM good health. The bouquets came from the Pakistani high commission in New Delhi.

Congress president Sonia Gandhi spoke to the Prime Minister’s wife, Gursharan Kaur and enquired about his health. The Congress Working Committee also sent warm wishes and a bouquet to the Prime Minister.

British premier Gordon Brown also wished him a swift recovery and good health, PM’s Media Adviser Deepak Sandhu said in a statement.

Bhutanese King Jigme Khesar, in a message, said the Central Monk Body was holding special prayers for Singh'’s early recovery.

He hoped the Indian Prime Minister would soon be able to resume his duties.Bhutan’s Prime Minister Jigmi Y. Thinley also extended good wishes of the people of his country and his government to Singh.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh had undergone a successful coronary by-pass surgery to overcome multiple blockages to his heart at AIIMS on Saturday.
