The bands from France, Britain, Bangladesh, Sri Lanka and Nepal took part in India's first ever military music festival. From India, bands from all three wings of the armed forces performed.

Beside armed forces bands, Kalaripayattu (traditional martial art of Kerala) display team, teams performing bhangra, Ladakhi dance and lezim dance from Maharashtra also captivated the audience.

The festival has been organised by the army at the parade ground in Delhi cantonment, the Purana Qila and India Gate. The function will be open to public March 5-6 in Delhi Cantonment.

President Pratibha Patil will attend the festival March 7.

In the past, Indian military bands too have participated in international events.
