At 15.4 degrees Celsius, the minimum temperature is seven notches above normal. By Monday, it is expected to drop to about 10 degrees Celsius. On Tuesday, the minimum temperature is expected to drop to 8 degrees Celsius and continue to slide downwards.

The maximum temperature will remain around 23 degrees, which is the normal average temperature in December. No rain has been predicted for next week.

"Throughout the week, the minimum temperature has remained abnormally high due to the mist and fog that traps the heat in the atmosphere. But temperatures will decrease by next week," said the officer on duty at the Safdarjung Met Department.

He said the weather is similar to 2010 when the first part of December was warmer than normal. "The end of November and beginning of December 2010 was warmer than normal. However, if we compare the two years, this year is warmer as temperature is one to seven degrees above normal compared to the one degree above normal temperature of December 2010," he added.

On Sunday, the maximum temperature was 23.4 degrees (one degree below normal), while the minimum was recorded at 15.4 degrees.

Humidity was also high as it fluctuated between 41 and 94%.
