MLA ends two-day fast

Delhi Cantt MLA Karan Singh Tanwar ended his two-day fast on Wednesday after assurance from the defence estate that no action would be taken on eviction notices issued to the residents of Mehram Nagar East and West.

Tanwar said the assurance has come from the officiating director general of Defence Estate Sundari Subramaniam Pujari.

The eviction notices were issued by the government citing security concerns for Indira Gandhi International Airport.

Tanwar, however, added that he would block the road if the government went back on its words.
