Mock drill: multiple disasters at Burari grounds

Driving at break-neck speed, two cars collided and overturned. The bystanders rushed to the vehicles and rescued the victims. A PCR van promptly reached the spot followed by CATS van and a fire engine in less than 10 minutes.

Response: Driving at break-neck speed, two cars collided and overturned. The bystanders rushed to the vehicles and rescued the victims. A PCR van promptly reached the spot followed by CATS van and a fire engine in less than 10 minutes.

The road accident was soon followed by a fire in the chemical factory and a blast at the shopping mall. The building collapsed due to an earthquake and a flyover caved in. The fire engines were quick to respond and so was Hazmat, a special vehicle bought to tackle fires in hazardous material.

Loopholes: There were not enough ambulances to cater to different disasters simulated at the ground. There were no stretches in the vans and the doctors present in the ambulance were laidback.

Toll: Sixteen dead, 40 injured.
