In order to tackle unruly councillors and ensure that outsiders do not enter the House meetings of North Corporation, there will now be four marshals placed in the meeting hall.

In order to tackle unruly councillors and ensure that outsiders do not enter the House meetings of North Corporation, there will now be four marshals placed in the meeting hall. The staff will be responsible of maintaining peace in the meetings and drag out people who turn abusive.

They will be brought in from the enforcement department of the municipal body.

The decision was taken on Wednesday in the wake of utter chaos in the last meeting of North Delhi Corporation over the issue of regularisation of unauthorised colonies in which councillors of both BJP and Congress almost came to blows and hurled abuses at each other.

Some Congress supporters had also allegedly entered the meeting hall and misbehaved with women officers.
