The total estimated cost of the project in phase 1 would be approximately Rs 70 crore.
“With ultra-modern facilities for passengers, ISBT Kashmere Gate would be developed as a model inter-state bus terminal in the country,” said Singh.
The renovated bus terminal will be equipped with centralised air-conditioning, halls, high-power glass lifts, escalators, waiting halls with modern art graphics and waterless urinals. There will be a food court too.
“Automatic and centralised public information system would also be installed, along with CCTV cameras,” Singh added.
“The maintenance work at Kashmere Gate was carried out despite the terminal remaining operational. We used modern techniques for the convenience of travellers,” Singh said.
