"This is an important year in many ways. Census 2011 is only months away and we need to get the figures right this time, else we will miss the bus for the next 10 years," said Javed Abidi of the National Centre for Employment for Disabled People.

The activist insisted that it is also time to demand a separate ministry of disability affairs.
