No clues to lead police to rapist
A day after a nine-year-old girl was raped inside the toilet of a Municipal Corporation of Delhi school in northwest Delhi, the victim told police she didn’t know the attacker, making the task of arresting the culprit difficult.
She told police the attacker was a stranger and not somebody she knew.
“We haven’t identified the assailant since the girl doesn’t recognise him. The other two girls who managed to escape from the toilet also haven’t given any leads about his identity,” a police officer said.
Counselors spoke to the girl, in a state of shock, for much of Friday.
Meanwhile, the victims’ relatives and neighbours protested outside the school and the office of the Deputy Commissioner of Police (northwest).
