Sources in the department of telecommunications (DoT) said that it had not received technical compliance from even a single operator for installing the equipment.

When contacted, Bharti Airtel, Tata Teleservices, Bharat Sanchar Nigam Ltd and Mahanagar Telephone Nigam Ltd confirmed that they had not submitted any compliance to DoT for interception of enterprise email services.

Research In Motion (RIM), the company that owns BlackBerry did not comment.

On September 16, DoT sent a notice to all the telecom service providers asking them to install technical capability by September 22 for interception of all BlackBerry services and give compliance to it.
