Starting 2011, Noida authority will spend R10,000 crore on development over the next five years. The projects include four bridges over river Yamuna, two major road corridors with flyovers, underpasses and signal-free traffic, besides links to the Delhi-Mumbai freight corridor, Eastern Peripheral and Upper Ganga expressways.

The focus is also on creation and upgrade of services such as a bus rapid transit system (BRTS), Metro rail, water, electricity, drainage and solid waste management.

The three industrial development authorities in Noida, Greater Noida and Yamuna Expressway have put together a “never-before” roadmap for these projects. The two major road corridors will be 130-meter wide to facilitate the BRT plan.

Chairman of the three authorities, Mohinder Singh, said on Monday, “2011 will be a year of infrastructure development. With plans to connect Noida to Eastern Peripheral and Upper Ganga expressways, besides Delhi-Mumbai freight corridor, we’re sure the three authorities will create the biggest multi-model infrastructural hub in the country.”

“Today (Monday), we reviewed the plan to extend Metro rail to Greater Noida. Soon, a bus rapid transit system (BRTS) will be a possibility. An ISBT (inter-state bust terminal) has been proposed at Morna in Noida. Also, work on the City Centre will start soon.”
