North Corp recovers Rs 57 cr tax from DDA

The North Delhi Municipal Corporation has managed to recover a chunk of property tax due of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) - the biggest land owning and housing agency in the Capital - through bank attachment. HT reports.

The North Delhi Municipal Corporation has managed to recover a chunk of property tax due of the Delhi Development Authority (DDA) - the biggest land owning and housing agency in the Capital - through bank attachment.

According to the leader of north corporation Mahendra Nagpal, out of Rs 272 crore due, the corporation has managed to recover Rs 57 crore through the State Bank of India.

"The rest amount of Rs 217 crore is yet to be recovered and will be done through Central Bank," Nagpal said. The DDA has 319 properties and 24 sports complexes in the city for which it is liable to pay property taxes.
