One held for smuggling

The customs department at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) arrested a businessman who was coming from Singapore and recovered memory cards worth R16 lakh from him.

The customs department at Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) arrested a businessman who was coming from Singapore and recovered memory cards worth Rs 16 lakh from him.

“Deepesh Momadia, a native of Jaipur, was coming from Hong Kong by China Airways flight CX 695. He had concealed 10,000 memory cards in his baggage,” Roshan Lal, Deputy Custom (preventive) of custom department.

Deepesh had a business of garments is Jaipur and for business purposes he used to visit Singapore frequently. He had declared an LCD he was carrying. However, when his baggage was searched the officials found the memory cards.
