PCR van catches fire; two policemen escape unhurt in Delhi

Two Delhi Police personnel had a narrow escape today when the PCR van they were travelling in caught fire, police said.

Two Delhi Police personnel had a narrow escape on Tuesday when the PCR van they were travelling in caught fire, police said.

The incident was reported from near Sheela Cinema in Paharganj at around 8:30 am when an Assistant Sub Inspector and constable were travelling in the vehicle.

Two fire tenders were rushed to the spot to douse the fire. However, the two personnel managed to escape from the vehicle unhurt.

"One of them found smoke emanating from near the brake paddle and stopped the vehicle. As soon as they got out to check, the vehicle got engulfed in fire," a senior police official said.
