Navneet Singh, an employee of Sparsh BPO Services was mowed down by a Haryana Roadways bus at Atlas Crossing on NH-8 while crossing the road.

Coming from Delhi, Navneet (23) alighted from a cab and tried to cross the busy lane. He was on the middle of the road when a Pushkar-bound bus coming from Delhi knocked him down, his relatives said.

Navneet was taken to a private hospital, where he was declared brought dead. The bus has been impounded.

Though the stretch has settlements on its either side, foot-over bridges are yet to come up at key points like the Atlas Crossing and Hero-Honda crossing. Udyog Vihar, where hundreds of industries are located and presence of cyber city make the stretch a busy one.

"About 40 people were killed in separate road accidents on the road this year," police said.
