District and sessions judge Mamta Sehgal transferred the case on the request of Pradeep Singh, lodged in Tihar jail. The MP was shot dead outside her New Delhi residence on July 25, 2001.

Singh, in jail since 2001 with 10 other accused including prime suspect Sher Singh Rana, has alleged the trial court had so far examined only 129 out of 220 witnesses.
