On Day 10 of the social activist’s indefinite fast to demand that his team’s Jan Lokpal Bill be legislated into law by Parliament, central Delhi’s Kamal Ataturk Marg saw a lot of action.

The protesters approached the PM’s house in ones and twos on Hazare’s exhortations. The designated time for the gherao was 5pm but people began trickling in soon after 3pm.

The authorities had sealed off the Metro stations at Race Course Road, Jorbagh, Udyog Bhawan and Khan Market and blocked all roads leading to the PM’s residence on Race Course Road.

By late evening, around 300 people were picked up by the police and released later.
