PIL against subsidy on diesel

Filed by economist Arvind Gupta the petition raises concern over air pollution owing to a proliferation of diesel cars. It claims the objective behind the subsidy to protect the interests of farmers and consumers was defeated as the automobile industry was benefitting.

Gupta said direct cash subsidies through the Aadhar card should be done for those in the BPL category.
