PM cancels Iftaar, Sonia not to host same

PM Manmohan Singh has cancelled his Iftaar reception which he had planned for September 20, apparently in the wake of Delhi blasts and Bihar flood.

Prime Minister Manmohan Singh has cancelled his Iftaar reception he had planned for September 20, apparently in the wake of Delhi blasts and Bihar flood.

Sources said no reason was given for the cancellation of the Iftaar reception but serial blasts in Delhi and the tragedy foloowing Bihar floods were seen as the reasons.

Congress President Sonia Gandhi too is not holding an Iftaar this time. Party sources said Gandhi has not organised any Iftaar for the last few years and this year too she did not intend to do so.
