PM Manmohan Singh hosts iftar

UPA Chairperson Sonia Gandhi, BJP leader LK Advani and a host of other leaders from across the political spectrum mingled with each other this evening at an Iftar hosted by Prime Minister Manmohan Singh in New Delhi.

Singh graciously received all the guests, who included a number of maulvis, community representatives and diplomats from Islamic countries.

Gandhi also mingled with the representatives of the Muslim community a few of whom were seen discussing something with her.

The Prime Minister spent some time chatting with Advani as he attended to the guests.

Those present at the occasion included Union Ministers AK Antony, P Chidambaram, Sushilkumar Shinde, Salman Khurshid, Sriprakash Jaiswal, Ajit Singh, Mukul Roy and V Narayanasamy.

Shinde was seen discussing something with the Prime Minister separately, apparently the situation arising out of violence in Assam and some other parts of the country.

Leaders from other political parties included RJD chief Lalu Prasad and LJP leader Ramvilas Paswan.

Bollywood actress Shabhana Azmi was also present.
