A senior police official said with the post mortem report in their hand, investigators would now try to tally it with the claims made by the girl's family and classmates in connection with the case.
Shanno died on April 17 in a city hospital after she was made to stand in the sun with bricks on her shoulders allegedly by her teacher Manju.
The official said they received the post mortem report this afternoon which said the girl suffered "no external injury and it hinted at epileptic problem as a possible reason for her death."
He said the police have been told to wait for detailed chemical and viscera report of the girl as well. Police were under pressure to arrest the teacher but "lack of credible evidence" had prevented them from doing so, the official said. The investigators also recorded the statements of her family members and students.
