“The conference fulfilled the assurance of reporting on a quarterly basis to the people on the progress of flagship schemes,” Principal Director General of Press Information Bureau Neelam Kapoor said.

UPA-II had promised to bring out “suitably institutionalised quarterly progress reports on flagship programmes” in the Presidential address on June 4 last year.

Barring Urban Development ministry, she said all the other ministries involved in the implementation of Bharat Nirman programmes presented their reports at the conference.

The first quarter reports on National Rural Employment Guarantee Act, Pradhan Mantri Gram Sadak Yojana, Indira Awas Yojana, Sarva Shiksha Abhiyan, Jawaharlal Nehru National Urban Renewal Mission, Rajiv Awas Yojana and National Rural Health Mission were made public in September last year.
