"The questions focused on Singh's alleged animosity with Haque, his telephone records and two of his alleged acquaintances arrested by us as part of the probe into two killings and one accidental death on 2nd March in Kunda," said a CBI source. CBI is also probing the killing of Balipur village head Nanhe Yadav and the accidental death of his brother Suresh.

Singh rejected all charges and said, "Allegations of my animosity with Haque are imaginary, false and without rhyme or reason. You know how ministers are. If I had any bad equation with Haque, I could have got him transferred easily. Why get him killed?" He also denied that the arrested were working for him. "The man they say was my driver is not actually. I have my own official driver," he said.
