Rajya Sabha Deputy Chairman K. Rahman Khan said a meeting of leaders of various political parties had decided that the house will not meet on March 17 and 18.

The Rajya Sabha was scheduled to go into recess from March 16 but the house decided earlier this month to extend the sittings by two days to discuss private member bills and other government business.

However, the leaders decided Tuesday against extending the session for two days. The Lok Sabha is also expected to go for a near four week recess from Tuesday.

Both the houses are expected to meet on April 12.
