This year, however, both the locations seem to have lost their sheen with the protesters heading for India Gate and from there to the Rashtrapati Bhavan to demand a safer Delhi.

For the past few days, the Delhi police has been advertising in local newspapers that while India Gate and Rajpath has been barred for protesters, the crowds can peacefully demonstrate at Ramlila Maidan and Jantar Mantar.

Despite the ads, these two locations have practically remained empty with Jantar Mantar playing host to only a few random protest groups.
