Relief to Delhiites as mercury dips slightly

Temperature in Delhi was marginally down Friday after snowfall in parts of the Himalayas but the day remained sunny and warm, officials said. Saturday is expected to be cloudy.

The temperature Saturday is likely to be similar to Friday, with the maximum hovering somewhere around 33 degrees Celsius, and the minimum likely to be around 18 degrees, an official from the India Meteorological said.

Delhi residents woke up to a cool morning on Friday with the minimum temperature two notches below average at 18.2 degrees Celsius.

The maximum temperature recorded on Friday was 32.8 degrees Celsius, one notch below the average for this time of the season.

“Snowfall in parts of Himalayas has led to cool breeze which has brought temperature down a bit,” the official said.
