Police said the assailants stabbed him several times in the abdominal area and finally slit his throat with a sharp weapon before fleeing the crime scene.

A case of murder was registered against unknown persons at the Narela police station. Investigators suspect that the man, identified as Vikas alias Bunty, was murdered either over a property dispute or personal enmity. Bunty’s father, Inder Singh, who died around three months ago, had retired from the Delhi Police as a sub-inspector.

A police officer said Bunty’s family members claim that he was at home when someone called out for him. Bunty went out and found four men waiting for him. A few minutes later, an argument broke out between them, which soon turned into a scuffle during which the assailants overpowered Bunty and stabbed him multiple times before slitting his throat.
