A 27-year-old man was crushed to death by a road roller at a construction site in east Delhi on Sunday night, police said.
A 27-year-old man was crushed to death by a road roller at a construction site in east Delhi on Sunday night, police said.

“The incident was reported from Mandwali area bordering the Delhi-Noida link road around 1:30 am and the victim has been identified as Upender Singh,” said a senior police officer on condition of anonymity.
Police said the incident happened when Upender – who was a road roller driver himself -- failed to spot a road roller while working at a PWD construction site.
“He was rushed to a nearby hospital where he was declared brought dead. The body has been sent for postmortem,” the officer said.
According to police, the driver of the road roller that crushed Upender has been identified as Vijender.
“Vijender fled the spot immediately after the incident and is missing since then. A case has been registered against him and a search has been launched to arrest him,” the officer added.
