The retired IAF officer, Om Prakash Malhotra, 73, and his wife had gone to Mumbai to visit their daughter when the burglary took place at their flat, the police said.

A senior police officer said that the incident came to light on November 5 after a neighbour found the locks on the main door broken. “The couple arrived here on Tuesday and lodged a complaint at the Mayur Vihar police station. A case of burglary has been registered and efforts are on to nab the assailants,” said the officer.
