The Delhi government has proposed a scheme to rehabilitate victims of child trafficking after concerns over repeated incidents of the crime.

The Sheila Dikshit government on Monday proposed to spend R5 crore to implement the scheme. Children rescued from their employers will be rehabilitated by the government. It also proposed to build half-way homes in west Delhi’s Rohini, Dwarka and Narela for children with special needs who have nowhere to go to. This will

cost the government Rs 47 crore. A separate budget allocation of Rs 14 crore was made for the maintenance of the homes.
