In most parts of the city the rain started in the morning and went on till afternoon.

"Thursday's rain was the highest for the season. We are expecting cloudy skies and rain/thunder showers for Friday," said the weatherman.

The rain deficit in some parts has already been washed away and the Met officials expect the rest of the deficit to be met in the coming few days.

"At Safdarjung, there is 6 per cent surplus rainfall already. At the other stations we are expecting that there will be no deficit in Delhi after the monsoon season ends," said B.P. Yadav, director, Weather Forecast, Meteorological Department.

The temperature, at 27.8 degrees Celsius, also remained comfortable but the high humidity, between 92 per cent and 82 per cent, played spoilsport for some.
