Very soon, air passengers will be able to reach Delhi's Indira Gandhi International Airport (IGIA) from Dwarka through a separate road.

At present, the only way to reach the international airport is from the already congested NH 8. Many passengers complain of getting late for their flights after being caught in traffic snarls on NH-8.
At a meeting convened on Monday under the chairmanship of Civil Aviation Minister Praful Patel, which was attended by Delhi Chief Minister Sheila Dikshit, it was decided that a road has to be constructed for a entry and exit point from the Dwarka side of the airport.
By July next year, IGI airport will have a new integrated Terminal 3 for both international and domestic flights. The new terminal's main access road will also be connected with NH 8.
At present the entire traffic from and bound to IGI airport is serviced by only the Delhi-Gurgaon Highway (NH 8), which causes inconvenience to passengers.
The traffic, which is around 25 million now is set to cross 50 million in the next few years and that is why there is a need for another exit, preferably on the Dwarka side.
