Priya Jha, an Okhla resident, was admitted to the hospital on September 9 with high fever, low platelet count and unstable vital parameters, according to the doctors treating her.

The girl eventually suffered multi-organ failure and was tested positive for dengue through the NS-1 Anti Gen test(ELISA). Civic authorities reported her death on Thursday.

The city has reported 1,729 dengue cases this year compared to 47 cases and no deaths in the corresponding period last year.
