Currently, there is only one patrolling van that looks into issues related to women. According to the Delhi government, it was not adequate to deal with the number of calls the police control room receives.

The decision was taken during a meeting with the Delhi government. Suggestions were made at the meeting by the government to increase the number of women patrolling vans.

“In case a call is made by a woman, a general patrolling van which is nearest to the spot will go there. But at the same time a women PCR van will also be sent to the spot,” a senior police officer said.
