Statesman editor becomes INS head

The Indian Newspaper Society (INS) on Friday elected Ravindra Kumar, editor of The Statesman newspaper, as its president for the year 2013-14. Kumar, who succeeds KN Tilak Kumar of Deccan Herald and Prajavani, was chosen at the 74th annual general meeting of the society.

The Indian Newspaper Society (INS) on Friday elected Ravindra Kumar, editor of The Statesman newspaper, as its president for the year 2013-14. Kumar, who succeeds KN Tilak Kumar of Deccan Herald and Prajavani, was chosen at the 74th annual general meeting of the society.

At the meeting in Bengaluru, Kiran B Vadodaria (Sambhaav Metro) was elected deputy president, while PV Chandran of Grihalakshmi was chosen as vice-president. Sanjay Gupta of Dainik Jagran, Varanasi, is the honorary treasurer and V Shankaran will be secretary general of the society.
