"We demand that the suspended staff be reinstated immediately and a departmental inquiry be constituted for the same," chairperson of the Joint Council of Primary Teachers Ram Kishan Punja said.

The suspended staffers - principal, class teacher of the girl, school attendant and watchman - have refuted that the incident on March 1 took place inside the school premises and denied involvement of any of the staffers. The four staffers were suspended on March 2.
