The decision comes after the party state affairs manager Vayalar Ravi called the MPs to New Delhi to discuss the Telangana issue on Wednesday.

But the seven MPs seem to be split on attending the meeting and going back on the resignation decision.

"What is the point of any more discussions when a decision to resign is taken," one MP told HT over phone from Hyderabad.

Only three MPs Ponnam Prabhakar, Siricilla Rajaiah and Madhu Yashki would be coming to the Capital to meet the Congress leaders. The MPs would bring with them their resignations from party and Parliament, which they earlier planned to send to the party chief Sonia Gandhi on Tuesday.

“We have no clue what the agenda is, but our next step including the resignations would be taken after the meeting,” said Gutha Sukender Reddy, Nalgonda MP.

Meanwhile in Hyderabad, protests continued with the demand of Telangana creation.
