A 7-year-old boy was kidnapped and murdered allegedly by his tenant who had developed a grudge against the boy’s father.

The boy’s father was forcing him to vacate his house after learning about the latter’s illicit relationship with a woman in the neighbourhood, police said on Monday.

The boy was kidnapped on July 13 from Swaroop Nagar and the accused tenant has been identified as Ashish. Police learnt about Ashish’s involvement in the kidnapping and that he has killed the boy after they arrested Ashish’s associate Mohammad Islam on Sunday.

Gaurav Kumar, a Class 2 student, was kidnapped on July 13 from outside his house by Ashish, a carpenter. Ashish and Islam then took the boy to an isolated place and killed him. The victim’s family had not received any ransom call.
