National Security Guards Director General J.K. Dutt said three-four terrorists were suspected to be inside the labyrinthine building. He said the commandos were re-thinking their strategy as the terrorists could be "changing their tactics".
The Taj Mahal Hotel is the last building where terrorists are still holding out. The security forces freed two other buildings - the Oberoi Trident and the Jewish centre of Nariman House, or Chabad House, on Friday.
At least 148 people have been killed and 327 injured in the Mumbai terror attacks.
