A total of 445 vehicle owners were challaned for obstructive parking in CP and 33 vehicles were impounded.

“Places like Palika parking is not used beyond 60-70 per cent of its capacity. People should use designated lots,” said DCP Traffic (New Delhi Range) Suvashish Chaudhary.

In the southern range, action was taken against 191 jaywalkers. Another drive in west district saw action being taken against Blueline buses (138) and autorickshaws (132) while 596 two-wheeler drivers were challaned in southwest district.

In the northern range, 261 Blueline buses were challaned for violations of Supreme Court guidelines.

When asked about different actions taken in different areas, traffic police chief S.N. Shrivastava said, “It (drive) is need based. A certain area will need action against unauthorised parking while another area will need action against Blueline buses.”
