The conmen, who were dressed in khaki and identified themselves as officers from the GTB Enclave police station, made away with the money in a white bag after telling four of Goyal's employees that their names had come up in a scam and asked them to come to the police station.

The victims realised that they had been conned after they reached the GTB Enclave police station and were told that there were no cases pending against them or their employer.

"One of the employees immediately informed Goyal about the incident while the other got in touch with the police control room. A complaint in this regard was lodged," an officer said.
