Two get six years RI in gang rape

A Delhi court on Tuesday sentenced two persons to six years rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl two years ago.

A Delhi court on Tuesday sentenced two persons to six years rigorous imprisonment for raping a minor girl two years ago. Additional Sessions Judge R K Jain held Ramji Paswan, 21, and Babulal Soren, 26, guilty of gang rape under Section 376 (2)(g) of the IPC and also imposed a fine of Rs 100 each on them.

Both Paswan and Soren were arrested after a case was registered with Kotwali police station in New Delhi on a complaint by the parents of the 16-year-old victim on January nine, 2007.

The parents of the victim had alleged the two had entered their house on the intervening night of January 7 and 8, 2007, and raped her.
